ConstructSim Planner CONNECT Edition Update 5 Help

Task Processing and Unit Rates

Task Processing is the stage in creating a VCM that allows you to do Work Package planning. Task Processing is mainly focused on the creation of an Activity Model that defines the stages of performing the necessary work for an object within a Work Package. This Activity Model is structured around a Discipline which contains Activity Types, which in turn contain Typical Steps. So for example, a Pipe Spool Activity Model may have three Activity Types called Fabricate, Install, and Test. The Install Activity Type may have two Typical Steps called Erect and Fit-Up. Unit Rates are an end-user’s collection of data about how long it takes to perform a Typical Step. The Unit Rate tables in ConstructSim Planner must be populated with correct data in order to perform proper Task Processing. The combination of an Activity Model properly tied to a set of Unit Rates is used to do Work Packaging.
